Adults are strictly marine inhabitants. Juveniles occur in brackish mangrove estuaries and sometimes enter rivers, penetrating well inland, for example 200-300 km up the Sepik River (Ref. 2847) and Ramu river (Ref. 13533); known from Kimbe bay (Ref. 28888). Also Ref. 3280 and 6192.
